Daniel L. Girdwood

Dan Girdwood specializes in the procurement, licensing and enforcement of patents primarily for mechanical inventions and registration and enforcement of trademarks. He earned a J.D. degree from Thomas Cooley Law School, a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and a M.S. degree in business from Michigan State University. Also, Mr. Girdwood is a certified professional engineer in the State of Michigan and has passed the certified public accountant exam. Prior to joining the firm in 1990, he was an engineer at General Motors. He also has taught as an adjunct professor at Thomas Cooley Law School, Lansing Community College and Grand Valley State University. Mr. Girdwood is a member of the Michigan Bar and has served as a council member for the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Michigan Bar. Other memberships include the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Michigan Patent Law Association, the Federal Circuit Bar Association and the American and Grand Rapids Bar Associations.
