Jeff Kapteyn is a licensed patent attorney with substantial experience procuring and enforcing patents for mechanical and electromechanical inventions. Mr. Kapteyn also registers and enforces trademarks. Prior to joining Price Heneveld® in 1996, he worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft Corporation, where he analyzed and designed satellite components and systems. While attending law school, Mr. Kapteyn interned at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was involved in litigation relating to government contracts. He earned a J.D. from George Washington University, an M.S. degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he also is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
