Steven Underwood has a broad intellectual property law practice focusing on litigation. Before joining Price Heneveld® prior to 1999, he was based in Chicago. Both then and since, he has participated in many lawsuits in federal courts around the U.S. involving patents, trademarks, trade dress, and copyrights. Mr. Underwood has a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University Of Detroit School Of Law, a B.M.E. from the University of Detroit and experience as an auto industry engineer. He is a member of the bars of Michigan, Illinois, and the District of Columbia; is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan and the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court; and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. He is also a member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations, the Association of Intellectual Property Law Attorneys and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
