Brian Ainsworth focuses his practice on procurement and enforcement of patents for mechanical and electromechanical inventions and the procurement of foreign trademarks. Specifically, he is experienced in obtaining patent protection for fiber optic designs and systems, automotive components, furniture components and systems, and building construction components. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Ainsworth worked as an engineer for Contech, Inc., a division of the SPX Corporation. He earned a J.D. degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and B.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and engineering business management from Michigan State University and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
