Donna Raaymakers, PP-SC
Donna Raaymakers joined Price Heneveld as an Intellectual Property Specialist in 2017. Donna is a Certified Paralegal and brought 27 years of intellectual property experience to the firm. She is proficient in all areas of patent and trademark prosecution, regulation and maintenance; reviewing office actions; drafting responses; preparing formal documents; and filing applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and worldwide. She has extensive knowledge of domestic and international filing requirements, including the Paris Convention, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and European Patent Office (EPO) practice; researching emerging patent rules, regulations and procedures; summarizing issues for attorneys; performing assignment searches related to due diligence; organizing prior art for disclosure; legalization of formal documents; meeting formalities requirements set by foreign and U.S. jurisdictions; coordinating the payment of maintenance and annuity fees with clients, annuity services and foreign counsel; filings in accordance with the Madrid Protocol and European Union; trademark renewals; licensing agreements; opinion drafting; cease and desist infringement communication; global portfolio management and administration for a variety of clients from academic institutions and universities to major multinational corporations; use of a variety of docketing software and procedures; and U.S. copyright procurement. Donna’s experience includes the chemical, computer, electrical, electronic, medical, and mechanical areas of technology.
Donna studied at Grand Rapids Community College and is an active member and volunteer of the National Association of Legal Professionals. She holds a Professional Paralegal Certification, an advanced Intellectual Property Law Specialty Certificate, a Law Office Management Specialty Certificate, and received an Accredited Legal Professional Certification. Her honors include receiving the NALS Continuing Legal Education Award in 2016, 2018, and, again, in 2020 for her professional development through legal education. Beyond the educational seminars and learning experiences, she has attended numerous seminars and programs focused specifically on leadership and currently serves as Chairperson of the NALS of West Michigan Community Service Committee. Her service to NALS does not stop at the local and state levels, she also serves nationally as a member of the Governance Task Force. She additionally maintains her skills by attending events sponsored by the USPTO, WIPO and NALS and is a Notary Public for the State of Michigan.
